All of the below is theory and conjecture crafted by players.
Nashandre
A massive Yoked with a dirty white mane and a physique that speaks to a life of conflict. Her weapon of choice is worn and rusted and exhibits strange, time-defying properties. She is brusque, laconic, and stoic, though this seems to mask a passionate and fiercely protective soul.
Background
Nashandre is, first and foremost, a fighter. Some would even say she's a rabble-rouser. She fought against giants in the rebellion, first serving under Sage Sigrid and then The Ruby Lord after the battle at Khoving.
After the giants disappeared she settled with The Ruby Lord as a close friend and lover. At some point during the time of the Realms, she became disillusioned with the direction of the realm, and became a one of the Treasoners.
It was for this crime The Ruby Lord placed her soul in a piece of the Crystal Vigil.
Nashandre doesn't know we killed The Ruby Lord, only that she's dead.
Discovery
We found Nashandre's soul first in the Brine. It had been seemingly discarded there.
Why was her soul discarded in the Brine?
When we reached the Red Court, Salvius began to have dreams of an idyllic villa in the hilly edges of the Red Court where a massive, gentle Yoked resided. The Crimson Retainers guarded the marshes too well and we couldn't reach the place in his dreams until after the true death of The Ruby Lord.
It was there we discovered Nashandre, calmed her with a song, and returned her soul to her. She greeted us with "You aren't who I expected."
It was difficult to determine when her souls was taken, but we believe it happened some time before the Realms fell and before the execution of The Ruby Lord. She doesn't refer to Jyggalath's missionaries as the "Wicked Saints," so it must have been before their damnation from memory.
Nashandre was not mad, like so many we had met on our journey. She agreed to come along with us as a companion, if only to learn more of the world and what has changed. She represents a very different time from ours, and though she tries not to show it, the culture shock of seeing her world in ruin must be immense.
We quickly discovered she was a treasoner when we found her badge hidden in a watch tower of the Red Court. She had killed the three Crimson Retainers using the watchtower. She claimed they were acquaintances, but what she was fighting for mattered more.
Much of Nashandre's past is unclear, but her devotion to The Ruby Lord is without question. We can only hope the time we spend with her will answer more questions, because she certainly won't.
Nashandre practically venerates The Ruby Lord. The bonds The Ruby Lord believed in could be leveraged to convince her of a great many things.
Growth
The time we've spent with Nashandre has seen us grow closer.
- Nashandre has come to admire many of our deeds, such as defeating the Christened and destroying the undead that killed the treasoners in the Frostpyre.
- There are long stretches of time in which she is contemplative and silent in light of our deeds.
- She's told us a few things of the past. But only a few.
- She hasn't spoken on our world now and seems stuck in the past, fixating on how our actions now have affected her world. But her world is gone.
- Nashandre has opened up more to us. Salvius has developed a rapport with her.
- She speaks on the Ruby Lord often.
- When appropriate, she tells us of the past. She seems nostalgic for fighting for a cause.
- She enjoys the camaraderie of our little group.
