This resembles the Silver Seeds the Star-Eater consumed. Pluralist denied anything to do with the giants, and prospered in their research. The Star-Eater was created to mock giants, and its flowery core reflected this.

But mockery eventually ceases to be ironic, and the Realms’ rulers became much like the giants.
