This everlasting flame was the central pillar of a single family of the Progenitors. It is the only truly immortal thing in this world.

When the giants came, death was paused; the progression of time was halted and the world stopped spinning. Everything came to a grinding halt.

But the giants didn’t beat death, they just stopped living. No one was ever close enough or clever enough to see that they were even more pathetic than the kin they changed.
