Phonograph
A box containing a recording of the death song of a chorus whale. It was recorded on wax cylinders formed from their own ambergris and can be used to play their song.
The House of Holy Light’s eternally burning lamp was constructed with one such song, contained in this very phonograph. A young missionary of great heroism took watch over the lamp, and was thus spared the fervent addiction of his compatriots. But madness is not found by a solitary path, and the light shines on many roads.
The chorus of every whale is unique, and each phonograph will play when uncapped.
